    - profile - Formed in 2023 based on demo recordings made from memories and stories, mozu is a three-piece band from Tokyo that promotes "new post-rock." Within their minimalist and realistic expression, they combine a cinematic drama and strong tension. They are characterized by a unique ensemble consisting of a bold and talkative fretless bass, a repeating transparent guitar, the only drums that feel real, and a vocal that speaks on top of that. The album contains four songs, "Escape", "Wandering", "Bull of Phalaris", and "A Tale", which have a more band sound and experimental feel that differs from the claustrophobic and lyrical worldview of their previous work. The artwork and the music video for the track "A Tale" were directed and produced by Gen Miyakawa, a video artist who serves as the director of the independent media "niwa" along with safmusic.
