What I want

The new EP "What I Want" by Tokyo-based rapper UKEN is finally being released.
After gaining attention through his submission video for "Rap Star 2025"on X (formerly Twitter), this project marks a long-awaited release. The EP is a fully solo work with no featured artists.

The release date, April 1st, falls one day before UKEN's 16th birthday, making it the final day of his life as a 15-year-old.
As the title "What I Want"suggests, the project reflects what UKEN has been searching for and envisioning through his music. Throughout the EP, he expresses the dreams and hopes he developed over the past year, as well as the struggles, setbacks, and inner conflicts he experienced while pursuing his ideals.

In addition to introspective lyrics, the songs also include familiar, everyday expressions and thoughtful wordplay, offering a glimpse into his life as a student living in Tokyo and Kanagawa.

The EP features production from Kahobeats, onyourmaxx, HANEDA, Daisy, and Will away-producers and beatmakers who are currently gaining attention on social media. Their contributions bring a new sound to the project, revealing a different side of UKEN.

All tracks were recorded at East Bro Studio in Ryogoku, with mixing and mastering handled by Pill Witch at the same studio.

It has been one year and four months since the release of his first album in December 2024.
Through this EP, listeners will be able to experience the current state of UKEN, who has grown not only technically, but also mentally.
