Artist Profile

  • LA SEÑAS

Formed in 2016, a "improvisation" percussion group composed only of percussionists. It is the first group in Japan to incorporate the improvisation method "Rhythm with Signs" using hand signs that originated in Argentina, and the number of students exceeds 30. Each member also conducts activities as individual persianists, and many members who are active in the field of major artists are also enrolled. "Rhythm with Signs" that characterizes LA SEÑAS is a performance method in which performers improvise and build rhythms from more than 150 kinds of hand signs shown by the conductor. Making full use of all kinds of percussion instruments in the world, the conductor summarizes them with hand signs and senses the atmosphere of the venue and audience. We will develop an enthusiastic ensemble while involving the venue on the spot and create a live performance. The simplicity of percussion only and rhythm is easy to accept regardless of age and gender, and you do not choose a listener, while the novel playing method that originated in Argentina, which is still not recognized in Japan, has an experimental element and makes even core music fans roar. .
