"Genesis" is a collaborative EP by Andre, a rapper from Nagoya-based hip-hop crew and label D.R.C., and Tokyo-based beatmaker and engineer NAOtheLAIZA.

For most of the project, the two built their music from the ground up in the studio. Beats and verses were created on the spot, with both artists pushing each other to explore their ideas and bring their individual visions together.

They set out to create a sound that was neither driven by current trends nor rooted in nostalgia-a sound that could stand the test of time and still resonate with listeners decades from now. The result is their own take on a timeless hip-hop sound, shaped by their shared vision and creative chemistry.

From the hard-hitting energy of "Round One" to the dancefloor-ready feel of "E-kanji" and "Coming Up," and the emotional depth of "Change," the EP moves freely across a diverse range of sounds and moods.

What makes Genesis unique is that not a single track was left on the cutting-room floor. Throughout the studio sessions, the two challenged each other creatively, working under pressure while allowing their instincts to align in real time. Every track emerged from that spontaneous connection, capturing the chemistry between them as it happened.

That process inspired the title Genesis, a word meaning origin or the beginning of creation.
