Ro Collection

Yukiko Kamata is a composer based in Kumamoto City. Working primarily in post classical and electronic music centered around piano, she specializes in acoustic sound production. She has created music for visual projects including short films, as well as for numerous companies and regional projects, including Sony, JT, and Mazda Corporation. She also works on spatial music projects that connect music with specific places and experiences.

Her new EP Ro Collection is centered around the Danish word Ro, meaning tranquility and peace of mind, and expresses a sense of inner calm that is both introspective and quietly powerful. Moving beyond her previous acoustic based approach, the EP explores new musical territory through tracks such as Sanctuary, which incorporates beats, and renz, a collaboration with Kumamoto based artist Soneiyu.

Built around beautiful piano tones, the collection invites listeners to pause amid the rush of everyday life and rediscover a sense of stillness within. The artwork features a piece by Kumamoto based painter yuriko, visually expressing the atmosphere and world of the music.
