"Asakusa Chanpuru"
Chanpuru means 'mixed up'.
This time, I am featuring Button Masher, the Grammy Award-winning
arranger and video game music composer.
I composed this piece to coincide with his first visit to Japan.
He has expressed his love for Japan many times before, so I incorporated elements of Japanese music, such as gagaku and scales,
into the composition, blending them with our musical style to create
a small piece.
The accompanying visuals were filmed in Asakusa.
It truly is 'chanpuru'.
Born in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture. I started learning piano at the age of 3, and graduated from Musashino Academia Musicae with a degree in instrumental music. I started working as a professional musician at the age of 19, and gained a lot of experience in TV programs, commercials, compositions, and arrangements, as well as in the major music scene. After graduation, I trained as a pianist in jazz bars and black gospel churches in order to master my roots in Latin, Afro-Cuban, and gospel music. I also worked as a keyboardist in bands such as Tropical Disco Band (avex, 2017) and ORESKABAND (2019) before leaving in August 2021 to focus on my solo career.Solo project started in December 2021.KORG artist.
