MELLOW IN

LANII's third single "MELLOW IN" marks her first time taking on both songwriting and composition. Inspired by the modern slang term "meroi" (meaning irresistibly charming or swoon-worthy), the track is a love song told from a male perspective.
Built on an R&B-tinged hip-hop sound, it captures the contrast between the protagonist's seemingly mature, composed exterior and the intense possessiveness and passion he keeps hidden inside-expressed through the tension between the music and the lyrics.
For the lyrics, LANII is said to have woven her words while vividly imagining every detail of the story's characters, from their personalities to their appearance and even their background.
Drawing on the idea that "being grown-up" can mean "being mellow," she layered the meaning of "MELLOW" (calm, laid-back) with the sound and nuance of "meroi," ultimately coining the title "MELLOW IN."
