Was it a jazz bar called Seabird in Shibuya in 2013, wasn't it? .... It was the first time I met Mr. K-zo Wada and had a jam session. One of my common acquaintances was Mr. Kawamura, who loves jazz, and he thought, "If you connect these two people, a chemical reaction will surely occur and you can listen to an interesting performance!" It was the first time for me to play at that shop, but when I arrived quite early and approached the building, the sound of the saxophone leaked from inside. A tense and smooth scale phrase flowed, and I was excited and instinctively realized that something would happen. When I entered the shop, an elderly gentleman came out with a big smile, and I felt that this person definitely matches the wavelength, and it's in my pocket today! The result was exactly, and the inside of the store packed with full of audiences, excited and delighted. Let's do it again, we promised. When I performed for the second time, K-zo san had already gathered the members, so I would like to name the session because it was a good idea . I called it KWAN and did it at Yotsuya's Socase Rock, which was the premiere of this band. It was. The band name "KWAN" is taken from Keizo, Wada, Akihiro, Nagaya as it was, but there was also my navel bending creator habit if I do it anyway,I said that I would try a new expression by covering it with rare characters. After that, thanks to you again, I have come to continue as a band before I knew it. We are now able to publish this CD, and we would like to express our deep gratitude to everyone who has supported us so far. Thank you. And thank you for listening to this CD. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Artist Profile

  • K-WAN

Tokyo in Japan, They have performed as an instrumental Jazz Band. They are really veteran players, playing standard jazz most likely but the album released recently is a proposal of new jazz expression by a hint of Japan taste.
