"Communication" is a rock tune by Hinano Nagasaki that explores fragile relationships and a loneliness that keeps accelerating without ever truly connecting. In this song, "communication" is not about mutual understanding, but about a safe, imaginary dialogue created to avoid rejection. Names like "Friend No.3" or "Friend No.?" symbolize the refusal to face real intimacy-protecting the relationship by never giving it a true name. Words that sound kind, such as "It's okay" or "I can do it," gradually strip away choices and trap the narrator in a loop of hesitation. Smiles are pasted on, noise is ignored, and eventually emotions themselves are cut off, all in an attempt to avoid being hurt. The repeated chorus reveals the irony at the heart of the song: communication that never stops, yet never moves forward. Acceleration without direction, and solitude mistaken for a "correct" answer. In the final moments, the plea to "stay friends" becomes both a wish and a curse. By trying so hard not to break the connection, the narrator ends up preserving it until the very moment it collapses. "Communication" is a sharp and modern portrayal of emotional isolation- a song about pretending to connect, and the quiet loneliness that remains when nothing is truly shared.
