Lyric

Tokyo Night Cruising

pomodorosa

Fu uh…

In the night

For the sight

Gradually

Shading on

Dreaming now

For the sight

We'v go fleeting way

Well look down to city

Look, like a diorama

We will be stop at station one by one in order

Where is next station and step into location

Wonderful encounter is be nearly, truly just begun

Feel the southern breeze tonight

Fu uh…

In the night

For the sight

Gradually

Shading on

In your eyes

View of sea

Ships come and go the bay

So way you can find lost things

And while you know that already

We will be stop at station one by one in order

Where is next station and step into location

Wonderful encounter is be nearly, truly just begun

Feel the outside window

Well looking up to the sky

Look, clouds reflect shining

Say, like a dream yesterday

Hey, like a stars of thousand

We will be stop at station one by one in order

Where is next station and step into location

Wonderful encounter is be nearly, truly just begun

We will be stop!

One by one in order

Where is next station

What a wonderful encounter

Who is coming next stop

And step is be lighter

Wonderful encounter is be nearly, truly just begun Yeah

Fu uh…

    Reincarnation

    pomodorosa

pomodorosa has a wide variety of musical styles, including Pop, Jazz, Soft Rock, Electronic, Shibuya-kei, etc., but for many listeners, pomodorosa is still "bossa nova".
In fact, the tracks that reign at the top of the playback count, such as Bourbon, Saudade no Céu de Outono, Thunderbolt from the blue, Feijoada, and Pardon, are all bossa nova and samba tracks.

This newest work, "faux fruit" only contains bossa nova and samba. However, what is here is not just chill and comfortable bossa. While following the context of bossa, it is a challenging and edgy album that tries to push the limits with arrangements, lyrics, technology, and methods. If I could arbitrarily name the genre, I would call this "Advanced Bossa"

Today's chaotic world order, the rise and deception of AI, division and intolerance. The themes that are dealt with behind the light-hearted bossa are heavy and complicated. But at the same time, it is also true that universal human values and unchanging lives exist there. However, all chaos and values are merely one frame in the great circle of reincarnation. The fact that the album begins and ends with "Reincarnation" which symbolizes reincarnation, is proof of this theme.
This album is an ambitious work that blends together such a "human perspective" and a "perspective from something transcendental".

The title, "faux fruit" translates to "fruit of lies" in French. I would like to leave it up to the listeners to decide the true or lie of the messages this album presents.

Artist Profile

  • pomodorosa

pomodorosa, a Tokyo-based indie pop alchemist, spins whispery, chill soundscapes that cradle everyday moments, from cozy cafes to fleeting travels. Sparked by YMO-inspired jams at art school, they infuse anime aesthetics and J-pop culture into their music, doubling as an illustrator and character designer. Their roots - game music, bossa nova, Squarepusher's electronica, and The Beatles' timeless pop - fuel a DIY blend of jazz, electropop, and lo-fi. 2025's faux fruit weaves bossa and pop with magnetic charm, hitting 70,000 monthly Spotify listeners and 3 million streams. Fresh for teens, yet layered with depth for music nerds, their sound captivates globally. More than cafe music, pomodorosa weaves Japanese, English, and Portuguese lyrics with witty takes on modern life, blending Shibuya-kei's quirk with city pop's sleekness. Like an anime frame, their tracks paint everyday journeys - perfect for studying or daydreaming. From SoundCloud hits "Bourbon," "Saudade no Ceu de Outono," and TikTok-viral "Thunderbolt from the Blue" to worldwide stages, they're redefining chill pop.
