JUN-GMC's first release in approximately seven years.
This song, "I'll be missing you," is a memorial song dedicated to a deceased friend. The cold December air, the cigarette smoke, the graves lined with friends memories of days gone by and the friend's words questioning the meaning of life quietly pierce the heart.
The song, set against the backdrop of Hachioji scenery such as the surface of the Asakawa River and the night view from Hiyodoriyama, depicts not only the sadness of loss, but also the time that continues even after parting, the feelings that are passed down, and the meaning of "living in the present."
While sentimental, it's not just a song that overwhelms you with tears, but one that conveys a quiet strength and tenderness. JUN-GMC's characteristic realistic lyrics and melancholic flow will make each listener think of "someone important" to them.
Based in Hachioji, Tokyo, this Japanese rapper/MC has been active since around 1998. He has built his own unique style while strongly inheriting the atmosphere of the early days of Japanese rap and the golden age of underground hip-hop. His lyrics, which combine real, street-rooted language with literary lyricism, have garnered a core following. His intricate rhymes, unique timing, and melancholic flow, unfolding over heavy beats, have earned him recognition as one of the MCs embodying 00's Japanese hip-hop. After being signed to K Dub Shine's "ATOMIC BOMB RECORDS," he established his own label, "GALLOWS RECORDS," where he produces music for his own artists as well as other artists on the label. He also hosted the big party "CONNECTION" for about six years at the now-closed legendary Hachioji club "ZONE," bringing together numerous MCs and DJs from the West Tokyo area. He is known as a key figure who supported the early and developing stages of the Japanese hip-hop scene in Hachioji.
