"Shokugen to Sayonara" ("Don't Talk the Talk") is a song about saying goodbye to the side of yourself that hesitates, and choosing to move forward for real.
It's a message to turn words into action - to stop making excuses and take the first step, even when it's scary.
Among Misaki Akizuki's works, this is one of her most popular songs.
Praised for its lyrics, listeners often say it "hits close to home," "makes me face my weaker self," and "gives me courage when I feel stuck."
It's a song that gently pushes you forward when you're standing still, reminding you that change begins with one honest step.
Just as music became my place to belong, I want my songs to become a place for someone else. I am Misaki Akizuki, a singer-songwriter performing with just an acoustic guitar. Through songs that embrace weakness and inner conflict as they are, and a style of performance that stays close to those emotions, listeners have described my music as "unforgettable" and "something that redefines what acoustic performance can be." I began writing songs in 2015 and have since performed across Japan. A street performance video in Osaka has surpassed 550,000 views on YouTube, and in 2019, I successfully held a solo concert that sold out with 50 attendees. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, I continued my activities, being selected in the THE FIRST TAKE audition and the TAKASAKI MUSIC FESTIVAL 2026 organized by TAGO STUDIO, and I keep challenging myself. I want to prove, through my music, that it is possible to keep moving forward while carrying pain and uncertainty.
