Machitoki Baku

Uturoi marks the first release under the name Machitoki Baku.
Structured around the four seasons spring, summer, autumn, and winter the EP reflects transitions in time, emotion, and identity.

After years of creating music under different names as a Vocaloid producer, Machitoki Baku emerged from a decision to express music through his own voice. This work stands as the starting point of that path.

Over time, values and personality collapse and take new form. Written through periods of conflict and reflection, these four pieces trace a return to the self.

Layering inner states onto seasonal imagery, the EP serves as both a personal document and a quiet record of renewal.

This release marks the beginning of an ongoing journey.

Artist Profile

  • Machitoki Baku

Machitoki Baku Machitoki Baku is a musician and artist from Aichi, Japan. Born in 2006, right-handed, blood type AB. Founder of IRO-MONO COLLECTIVE. In early childhood, encountering Pyotr Tchaikovskys The Nutcracker in piano lessons sparked an interest in music creation, while the Vocaloid culture discovered around the same time left a profound influence. At age 15, he began producing music using DTM. A self produced artist who handles nearly every stage of creation himself including songwriting, composition, arrangement, production, artwork, and video direction. With music as the core, his activities extend into visual expression, including fashion and illustration. From 2022 to 2025, he released works online under multiple aliases. While achieving iTunes chart rankings and gaining support from overseas listeners, he struggled between creative work and interpersonal relationships, ultimately experiencing a hiatus and retirement. He collectively refers to this period as his Phase 0. In 2026, with the aim of reconstructing his artistic expression, he resumed Vocaloid production under the names garakuta kuraku, se27, a. (a-dot), CULT P,and the experimental project YUI NE). At the same time, he redefined singing with his own voice as the origin of his expression and formally launched his solo artist activities under the name Machitoki Baku. Amid the sensation of his identity dispersing through creation under multiple aliases, what he ultimately arrived at was the act of singing himself. Machitoki Baku stands at the center of all these activities, embodying the core of his expression the greatest common denominator of himself. Rooted in pop, electronic, hip-hop, R&B, and jazz, while also drawing from digicore, kawaii future bass, Vocaloid, experimental, punk, and scum music, and shaped by experiences of visiting multiple countries from an early age, his sound is characterized by a fusion of foreign atmospheres and strong introspection. Through boundary-free creation unconstrained by genre or form, he continues to pursue music that only Machitoki Baku can create.
