Jun Nii (Nii Jun) Sanshin Singer & Comic Performer Jun Nii resides in Keihoku, a nature-rich rural area in northern Kyoto. His journey into Okinawan music began in the late 1990s, when he was captivated by a bus guide's singing during his first trip to Okinawa. Deeply moved by traditional Okinawan folk songs, he began practicing the sanshin (a traditional three-stringed instrument) at the age of 21-devoting up to eight hours a day to mastering the craft. He officially launched his career as a sanshin singer and performer in 2001. Alongside his artistic pursuits, he has gained broad experience in welfare and education, grounding his work in a deep understanding of people and community. His career as a sanshin artist is marked by both dedication and versatility. Under the banner of the "Nii Jun Show," he has performed at a wide range of events across Japan. His notable appearances include the 2014 Japan Festival in Sriracha, Thailand, and the Tenma Tenjin Hanjotei Rakugo Theater in Osaka since 2021. Driven by a desire to create inclusive performances that transcend generations and disabilities, Jun continues to perform with passion and heart. He released his first album, Nifee Deebiru!!, in 2019, followed by his second album, MAJUN, in 2024=both under SMY Records.
