Artist Profile
RIKA
RIKA is a piano playing singer songwriter who has been dedicated to piano performance since childhood. During her time studying abroad in the UK at university, she was deeply moved by the sight of street performers singing directly to each individual listener, which inspired her to begin her own artistic journey after graduating. She started writing lyrics and composing music in April 2018. Soon after beginning her activities as a singer songwriter, performing at live venues and on the streets, she faced the sudden passing of her brother, who had been active in a rock band. While continuing to write and perform her own songs, she also carries the desire to share her brothers music and preserve it as proof of his life. In October 2019 and March 2020, she successfully held solo concerts with an audience of 100 people. In 2021, she appeared at a major gateway music event. On February 23, 2022, she was awarded the Special Jury Prize New Artist Award at the World Creator Award 2021 Japan.
