~Kaori Nishimura, Jazz Vocalist: New York-Recorded Debut Album~ This debut album features 12 tracks, including jazz standards and Brazilian pieces. The piano was arranged and performed by Michika Fukumori, who has been based in the U.S. for 25 years and has released three albums produced by Steve Kuhn. The bassist is Aidan O'Donnell, known for his work with the Steve Kuhn Trio. On drums is Paul Francis, who contributed to Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett's Grammy-winning album Cheek to Cheek. Together, the trio creates a polished and sophisticated sound, perfectly complementing Kaori Nishimura's gentle and transparent voice.

The album is a collection of timeless masterpieces, starting with Chaplin's Smile and concluding with Disney's When You Wish Upon A Star. With a career spanning 25 years, Kaori Nishimura has performed extensively in Fukuoka, Tokyo, and Seoul, South Korea, while also regularly expanding her artistry through regular visits to New York. My Journey chronicles a life entwined with music, weaving together the various emotions and inspirations Kaori has encountered throughout her "journey."

Artist Profile

  • Kaori Nishimura

    Jazz Vocalist, based in Fukuoka, Japan. With experience in classical piano from age 3 to 15, she took part in a radio program public broadcast project and had a session with MALTA (Sax), which led her to start singing jazz. She performed on the grand stage of the Kitakyushu Performing Arts Center Main Hall at the 40th anniversary celebration of Kitakyushu City and also performed at Fukuoka Blue Note. Since 2014, she has performed not only in Fukuoka but also in Seoul, South Korea, and Tokyo, Japan, among other places. She visits New York once a year to study under Carol Fredette. In 2025, she released her first New York-recorded album, "My Journey."
