HEP-HICKJOURNAL" is Chiaki Kato's sixth new album and first in four years! (Continued from the previous album under the name of Chiaki Kato and Gatanton Rhythm) This album includes a duet tune that features Mitsuyoshi Azuma as a guest vocal and guitar (He is the awesome artist in the Japanese jump and jive ) .
Recorded at "Kichijoji Mandara-2", Kato's home venue, where struggled with the Corona disaster. The album features songs that have been cultivated through live performances over the past four years, and is the result of a band sound that can only be created now.
The nine songs are original music like a journal, a collection of songs from "HEP" to "HICK".

    Chiaki Kato is a Japanese Singer Song Writer. She plays the piano, also works as a composer, and performs with her band "Gattanton Rhythm". She is influenced by classic, jazz, jump blues, jive, children's music and things like that...So her music style is swinging hodgepodge. She sings about subtleties of feeling and little bitty scenes in daily life. Willie the Lion Smith, Fats Waller, Thelonius Monk, And Terry Adams(NRBQ) are the pianists she respects most. She has close friendship with the members of NRBQ, and played with them several times in the past.
