Artist Profile

  • HARUTA

Beginning their journey in songwriting, composition, and beat making during their sophomore year of high school, this visionary artist has consistently maintained a global perspective, crafting music with a distinct English lyric and Western inspired edge. During their university years, a pivotal journey to Tanzania, Africa, led to a groundbreaking collaboration with local musician $lyimo. Their joint single, "Daladala (Bus)," became a cultural phenomenon, sweeping three categories at the East African Music Awards. The track's impact resonated deeply across the region, earning widespread coverage on Tanzania's premier television and radio networks, including the renowned Wasafi TV, while another of their original tracks successfully climbed the local music charts. Driven by an unwavering commitment to cross-cultural connection, they traveled to Italy in March 2026 to collaborate with Syrian artist Mirna Kassis on a powerful new musical project. This continuous boundary pushing artistry earned them a prestigious nomination in the Student Category at the NHK Music Awards Japan 2026. Using music as a universal language, they consistently weave themes of peace and social messaging into their art a dedication that continues to inspire and resonate with audiences worldwide.
