Mina Kubota, a composer and pianist, has composed and arranged a variety of music for TV dramas such as "Gegege no Nyobo (My Husband is a Cartoonist)", "Yamaonna Nikki (Female Mountainee's Diary)", "Innocent Days", "Katsuragi Jiken (The Katsuragi Murder Case)" as well as for animations including the "ARIA" series, "Macross Delta" and "Momo Eno Tegami (A letter to Momo)". She graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, which has trained a lot of versatile and resourceful musicians. As an artist, meanwhile, she has released acclaimed albums represented by "Moment" and "Crystal Tales", featuring her own piano and compositions.
Mina returned to where she started her career as a composer and pianist to produce an album titled "Rain", the culmination of solo piano music that explores the full potential of the instrument. If you are fascinated with the meditative, profound and colorful world of piano music (e.g., jazz tunes performed by Keith Jarrett or Brad Mehldau, or for that matter, classical music composed by Fauré or Debussy), this album will certainly be a new partner in your life.
While Mina keeps producing scores for film and TV, making full use of her expertise in orchestration and programming, her techniques and skills have translated into 11 piano pieces. You may find yourself wandering in a mystical labyrinth as you listen to these masterpieces depicting scenes from everyday life; the more you listen, the more you will love them.

After graduating from high school, Mina enrolled in the Royal Academy of Music in London as a scholarship student to study composition and commercial music under Nick Ingman and Chris Brown, followed by graduation in 1994 and completion of a postgraduate degree in 1995. While in the academy, she received the Lansdowne Award, sponsored by CTS Studios, and was also among the finalists of the Eric Coats Prize. She subsequently collaborated with musicians in the UK in various music genres, from pop to classic. Mina has been active as a pianist, composer, arranger and producer since she moved back to Japan in 2001, composing and arranging a variety of music for TV dramas, films, animation, etc. Her outstanding works include those for the NHK TV drama "Gegege no Nyobo (My Husband is a Cartoonist)", the film "Katsuragi Jiken (The Katsuragi Murder Case)", the TV animation "Macross Delta", the "ARIA" series and the TV drama "Innocent Days".
