The Kinotetsu
EDO IN BLACK is inspired by Japanese ink painting, where light is created not by color, but by contrast.
Edo-period ink works use only shades of black to suggest depth, space, and presence.
This song follows the same idea - using a minimal set of instruments to explore tension, silence, and intensity.
Like ink on paper, what's left unplayed matters as much as what is heard.
Artist Profile
The Kinotetsu
A new-age band in which two uncles in their fifties and one of them's sons play equal roles. A rock-loving old man in his fifties asked his son, who plays drums, "Would you like to use your spare time to join a band?" It's centered on office worker rock that portrays the real life of an old man, but the sound is cool. In the fall of 2022, Moja Nakaguro joined, changed the band name to The Kinotetsu, and is active with a more powerful sound.
