    Toru Takiguchi was born at the foot of Mt. Fuji to a pianist mother and a martial artist father. Raised on music and nature, Toru started to play the guitar at age 12. When he was 16, he was introduced to the Keith Jarrett CD, "The Paris Concert", and thus began his journey in jazz. Soon after, Toru moved to New York to study and perform jazz. Since then, he has expanded his horizons not only in jazz but also in Brazilian music and flamenco. His sensitive, passionate, and rhythmical approach to music has charmed audiences worldwide. Toru leads his own trio and works with many kinds of groups/projects. He is often seen with singer/songwriter Avi Wisnia. He has performed at prestigious venues such as The Kennedy Center and World Café Live, and local venues in New York such as Joe's Pub, Rockwood Music Hall, and the Tea Lounge. He has also appeared at SXSW, CMJ, and the Apple Farm festivals. 2015 moved back in Japan and He started working as a producer in Japanese music scene.
