Ryoken MURAKAMI
A singer-songwriter based in Niseko, Hokkaido. Surrounded by the chaos of snowy winters and the quiet greenery of summer, he lives within the rhythm of the changing seasons crafting songs from melodies and words born of that life. Born in Kyoto, his journey began the day he got in the car and drove away a road that turned into a way of living. Drawing from the roots of blues, reaching through R&B, soul, and hip hop and finding echoes in the rhythmic patterns of traditional folk music, he weaves his sound with his own language and the rhythm of his daily life. Between the rawness of rusted iron and the warmth of a flickering fire, his music resonates in the space where nature meets the city. He listens to the crossroads of rootedness and wandering, of Black music and Japanese physicality and sings of being here, now, fully alive.
