I parked my Chevy down by the shore
Same ol’ spot like a thousand times before
Sunset dancin’ on the waterline
And that tree still standin’ like a friend of mine
Ain’t much left ‘round here but time
But that tree keeps growin’ just fine
That’s the Tree of Life, down by the bay
It knows what to keep, what to throw away
Roots run deep where the stories hide
And I find a little more of me each time
Folks moved on, that dock’s near broke
But I still hear Mama’s Sunday jokes
Leaves come back, and they fall once more
Like love that stays behind the door
You said you’d be back in the spring —
This here tree remembers everything
That’s the Tree of Life, down by the bay
It holds all the words we couldn’t say
Branches reachin’ for a sky so wide
And I find a little more of me each time
Ain’t just bark and leaves…
It’s every memory I didn’t know I still believed
That’s the Tree of Life, down by the bay
Standin’ tall where I used to pray
It don’t judge, it don’t ask why —
It just stands, while the years roll by

Artist Profile
starclime
There are still landscapes in music that we have yet to see. starclime is a fourteen-member music project. Taking City Pop as one of its starting points, starclime moves freely through rock, jazz, soul, R&B,EDM, classical music, ambient, experimental music, hip-hop, and musical traditions from around the world. Rather than remaining within a single genre, the project absorbs the colour, rhythm, culture and atmosphere of different forms of music, reshaping them into something new. The changing seasons. Journeys towards unfamiliar places. Memories of somewhere to return to. The distance between people. Feelings that lie beyond words. These landscapes and emotions flow throughout the music of starclime. Some things can only be expressed through song. Others only begin to reveal themselves when words disappear. For starclime, vocal works and instrumentals therefore belong equally to the same musical world. Each member brings a different musical background and a different perspective to every work, while some continue to discover and develop their own musical identity. Rather than preserving a single finished form, starclime allows the music itself to grow through change. starclime does not seek simply to add more genres. Its aim is to renew the way music itself can be perceived through the meeting of different musical worlds. Towards music that has yet to be named. Towards landscapes we have yet to discover. starclime will continue to present new ways of seeing and hearing music.
