Chiba-based rapper and beatmaker VOLOJZA (read: VOLOJZA) will release a new album, "Something the Broken Mirror Saw," It contains a total of eight songs. It also includes the preceding singles "True Criminal," "favorite," and "Dreams run around the barren fields.
VOLOJZA is a rapper and beatmaker known for hosting the label VLUTENT RECORDS for over a decade and for his work with the alternative hip-hop group Die, No Ties, Fly. 2021 will see the release of his solo album "KOREHARI TSUKURU KERU", which will include the track "KID FRESH". In 2022, he released the same album on vinyl, and also released the solo instrumental "BLACKSUMMER 2", which was dedicated to beatmaking, and participated in Die,No Ties,Fly's poivre album "So Far So Good". The album he is releasing this time reflects his emotional movement toward changes in his life and values. VOLOJZA himself created all the beats, but instead of using sampled bass as heard in "I LIKE YOU" and other songs, he mainly used hard equipment such as analog synths and drum machines. In style, it is an experimental hip-hop piece adjacent to trap, grime, and phonk. In terms of rapping, he also shows a variety of approaches, including a fast, packed flow and a loose, sing-songy flow. Both beats and raps show a variety of faces.
The guest performers on the album are VLUTENT RECORDS rappers doq and W.O. The mixing and mastering was done by K.K. The album was mixed and mastered by KABEYAM, and the artwork photos were taken by Kazuki Hatakeyama.
