Kashiwazaki's Madness: The Eccentricity of His Master's Keepsake Eboshi Hat

Kashiwazaki, a resident of Echigo Province, wins a lawsuit in Kamakura and returns home in joy, expecting to be able to give his master good news.
However, upon his return, his master has already passed away. Driven by grief, Kashiwazaki loses his mind (goes mad), dons his master's keepsakes, an eboshi hat (eboshi) and hitatare (hitare), and sets out on a wandering journey to Zenkoji Temple, carrying the keepsakes.
This tragic story mixes the delusion that "My master is not dead, I am his master" with the sanity that "I must mourn my master."
