Lyric

My husband, after working as a (corporate employee) for 50 years, retired at the end of March 2025. For his retirement trip, we stayed on the 11th floor of Hotel Monterey Okinawa from March 10th to March 13th. As I was relaxing in the room, gazing at the ocean, I heard the distant voices of children playing, the sound of the waves, the chirping of small birds, the caw of crows, and was enveloped by the scent of the tide. In just a few minutes, I wrote this poem. I composed about 60 songs for it, but I had a hard time getting people to read the kanji correctly. However, some really good songs remain, and I'm excited at the thought of performing them as karaoke someday for everyone to hear!
