    Ai was born in Japan. As a child she was already familiar with Min-yo, a style of traditional Japanese music. Started music career in primary school. She joined a gospel music group at University. While teaching, she performed at major concert halls, festivals, and appeared on TV and radio programs. Her own compositions are influenced by various styles, including jazz, pops, R&B, Brazilian, Latin, indigenous sounds and traditional Japanese music, and her purpose is to produce moving and soulful music.
