  She won consecutive titles at Taiwan's National Song Contest at the ages of 15 and 16, and made her professional debut in Taiwan at 17. She enjoyed a successful career across Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore, performing alongside stars such as Ouyang Feifei and Teresa Teng. She arrived in Japan in the 1980s to launch her career there, initially basing herself in the Kansai region before expanding her activities nationwide. In addition to her singing career, Lily Chen formed a hula dance troupe called "Lily Chen and the Southern Cross Group"; she is actively involved in volunteer work, performing hula dances at venues such as nursing homes. With numerous private fan clubs supporting her in the Kansai region, she is releasing a new single in response to widespread demand.
