butterfly inthe stomach is a rock band centered around vocalist and guitarist Yuichiro Ono. Drummer Taro Nakae joined in 2013. Continuing as a two-piece, they welcomed Michiko Kakimoto as support bassist in 2022, completing their first full album under this current lineup.
This work encapsulates three years of their journey as a three-piece, along with the twenty years they've spent continuing under the butterfly inthe stomach banner, even through member changes.
It features live staples like Track 1 "Chiheisen" and Track 2 "Sanctuary," the refreshingly straightforward Track 10 "Title Call" recorded in one take with no overdubs whatsoever, including vocals, M8 "kotaeawase," written for a documentary film about Omuta City Zoo, and M6 "Look at me now" and M7 "osoroino" completed using a new recording method where the two members overdubbed vocals over Ono's acoustic guitar track. It's a diverse and challenging work. These gentle yet powerful songs are sure to evoke positive feelings.
