Artist Profile

  • Runa Hoshino

"Bringing the world the greatest WAKU² " From Ashikaga, Japan, to the world-Runa Hoshino is a solo idol known as "the Red Comet of Watarasebashi 43." Her mission is to turn every stage into an unforgettable experience of music, joy, and boundless excitement. Runa made her debut at just five years old as a founding member of Watarasebashi 43. She later joined the children's duo RunaRina while in elementary school, before launching her full-fledged solo career in 2022. She released her first solo single, THE IDOL / WAKU² PROMISE, in 2023, followed by Never Ending / Find Yourself in 2024, writing the lyrics for both releases. That same year, she ventured into the heavier sounds of loud rock and punk with Sirius Ray, releasing the unit's self-titled debut mini-album in 2025. Then came 2026-a turning point. Three songs. Three chapters. One new world. BYE BYE NOISE. WAKU² DINOSAUR. KAWAII APOCALYPSE. Liberation. Hatching. Revolution. From reclaiming a voice nearly lost beneath the noise, to awakening an untamed sense of wonder, to a kawaii revolution determined to rebuild a broken world-these three songs form NEW WORLD TRILOGY, her third solo CD, released in October, 2026. A devoted dinosaur lover with a wonderfully unpredictable imagination, Runa combines playful spontaneity with the intensity of an artist who has spent most of her life onstage. Her electrifying performances, expressive dance, and irresistible onstage personality transform live shows into shared adventures, where the audience becomes part of the story. For Runa, being cute has never meant being weak. She believes you can stay cute-and still become stronger. Behind the energy, the laughter, and the fierce determination lies a simple dream: to create a kinder world, one where no one gets left behind. A world where even those who have forgotten how to dream can find a reason to believe again. From a small stage in Japan to wherever her music may reach next, Runa Hoshino keeps moving forward. The Never Ending IDOL. The world's greatest WAKU² is only just beginning.
