Hidden Time Loops

Berlin-based composer and violinist Hoshiko Yamane and Reykjavík-based composer and pianist Mikael Lind release "Hidden Time Loops," their second collaborative album.

On this release, Hoshiko Yamane's dark Moog synthesizer tones intertwine with Mikael Lind's shimmering, granular soundscapes, creating a sonic architecture that delicately weaves along the boundary between ambient and electronic music. Minimal yet intricately detailed violin and piano harmonies are layered throughout, quietly drifting the listener into a rich world that resonates with contemporary classical sensibilities.

Hoshiko Yamane is also known as a member of the legendary electronic synthesizer group Tangerine Dream, while Mikael Lind has recently expanded his practice into the field of sound installation, actively contributing to contemporary art scenes both in Iceland and internationally.

The album artwork features drawings and paintings by visual artist Sigga Björg, who has previously collaborated with Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós.

Hidden Time Loops is an ambitious work in which the distinct identities of both artists deeply merge, while simultaneously pushing each other's musical language into new and unexplored territory.
