The first sounds born from my journey of prayer
When I first traveled to India,
I was deeply moved by the sounds that filled sacred spaces
and the words that echoed in the silence.
This mini album, PRAY, is a collection of those memories of prayer,
transformed into sound and voice through my own expression.
It features three Sanskrit mantras,
including Heart Sutra, a piece in which I sing the Heart Sutra
through my own interpretation.
Rather than focusing solely on meaning,
I hope you can feel the power carried within the sound itself.
To me, prayer is a dialogue beyond words.
I hope these sounds quietly accompany your heart in some way.
Artist Profile
Haruna Yamaguchi
Born in 1985 in Hyogo, Japan. While studying at an international school in Canada during high school, she formed the piano and vocal duo Dew with a classmate. The duo made their major debut in 2008 under Victor Entertainment and continued their activities until 2023, with her serving as the pianist and backing vocalist. She began her solo career in 2014 and released her first solo album, Joy, in 2017. In addition to composing and performing, she now engages in a wide range of musical activities that go beyond the boundaries of entertainment. These include providing bedside care with a small harp called the Pastoral Harp and studying grief support, offering music that gently accompanies people in difficult times.
