HUSKYakaDaNas will release his new single, "Candy Apple,"on August 31.
The song was born from a request that a local friend-who is neither a singer nor a musician-had been making for more than ten years: "Let me sing the hook. Make a song where I'm on the chorus." HUSKYakaDaNas had been skillfully ignoring the request all this time, but eventually found himself thinking.
"Maybe this could actually be interesting."
Assuming it would never really happen, he casually came up with a melody on the spot and added some almost embarrassingly refreshing, feel-good lyrics. When he played it for his friend, however, the friend loved it-which, ironically, left HUSKYakaDaNas feeling embarrassed himself.
Built around the classic story of "a summer festival and romance," Candy Apple is a song that showcases HUSKYakaDaNas's strength as a storyteller and his talent for crafting vivid narratives through his lyrics.
