This is the sixth piece in the "Divertimento". The gavotte rhythm runs throughout, but the opening section also has a march-like quality. The simple accompaniment is a counterpart to the first piece, but this one features a bittersweet melody, blending minor and major keys. This piece was written in high school, and apart from the addition of a counterpoint melody and some changes to the harmony, the structure and progression remain the same.
I am a classical composer. My main focus is on traditional, multi-movement orchestral and chamber music, but I am characterized by a heavy emphasis on melody. This piece is one of the "Divertimento" which consists of eight movements.
