Wings of Light, Promise of Shadow

Luna lives in Eden, a city of white and gold where an ideal is kept by suppressing feeling. In a forbidden quarter she meets Kai, a fallen angel, and learns that the balance of the world is paid for by cutting away others' freedom. Named as enemies, they keep talking and, even when blades cross, discover they want the same thing. The white sky turns deep blue; choosing neither light nor shadow becomes the beginning of a new freedom.
