Ms. Indie Pop, who released an EP in July 2023 under the name mioriii from Hush Hush Records in the United States, has unveiled a music video capturing the process of packing traditional Japanese New Year's dishes, known as "Osechi." This music video features the song "Osechi," which was included in the "Triangle" trilogy released in 2018 under the name Ms. Indie Pop. Meaning of "Osechi": In Japan, "Osechi" refers to traditional New Year's dishes. These dishes are imbued with wishes for abundant harvest, good health, and prosperity for descendants. About the Song "Osechi": The lyrics of the song "Osechi" mention "celebratory side dishes," which are the accompaniments served with sake during celebrations. In Japan, there is a tradition of drinking sake to dispel evil spirits and wish for a long and healthy life. These dishes are packed in the first tier of the container called "jubako." In the second verse, the mention of "simmered dishes" signifies auspicious meanings attached to each ingredient. The wish for family unity is expressed through the symbolism of ingredients simmered together in one pot, packed in the second tier of the container. For the music production, traditional Japanese instruments such as taiko drums and shamisen are used. The latter part of the song features the artist's own voice, deliberately recorded with a childlike quality to depict a lively and happy atmosphere around the dining table.
