"Let It All Go" was born from a phrase I used to tell myself
when I was struggling with intrusive thoughts and flashbacks.
Living with several mental health conditions,
I was often overwhelmed by painful memories and nonstop thoughts.
In those moments, I would say to myself:
"Chill, you just let it all go."
I hope this song can bring even a little relief to anyone going through something similar.
Cat Trooper is a duo consisting of Ikeuchi Mansaku and Honda Michiyo. Their music is deeply influenced by the effervescent 90s house music and post-rave techno, blending elements of big beat, soul, disco and rock into a dynamic dance sound that is both energetic and carefree, with a hint of cynicism. Their songs transcend the boundaries of dance music, weaving lyrics that explore the gray areas behind love and euphoria, offering listeners a fresh perspective. Ikeuchi Mansaku and Honda Michiyo both grew up with a deep appreciation for classical music and have since absorbed a wide range of musical influences. Mansaku was involved in rock bands, while Michiyo was part of a techno unit, which broadened their musical horizons. They also co-hosted the web program MUSIC SHARE through which they introduced outstanding Japanese artists and deepened their musical views through interactions with both domestic and international artists. In recent years, both have faced bipolar disorder and were forced into a period of recuperation. However, music has been a constant support during this time, and they eventually returned to their creative endeavors. Currently, they continue their music production at their home studio in Yugawara, after leaving Tokyo. The bond between the couple, who have been supported by and share a love for music, is deeply reflected in their work.
