"The HipHop Guitar" is an instrumental EP fully self-produced by TAKU, guitarist of the Japanese hip-hop band In-Sist.
The project explores four distinct styles of hip-hop - East Coast (NY), West Coast (L.A.), Southern (South), and Lofi, the sound shaped by internet culture - featuring two tracks inspired by each, for a total of eight.
With guitar and beats, TAKU captures the atmosphere of place and time, weaving his unique touch into every chord progression, phrase, and groove.
This ambitious work serves as TAKU's own interpretation - and tentative definition - of what "hip-hop guitar" could be: a style that has yet to be named.
