Lights blur in the glass
Heartbeat syncs with the bass
We’re caught in the glow
Nowhere else to go
Sliding in the back seat, silence feels so loud
August air is heavy, stars are breaking out
Streetlamps draw the outlines, shadows trace our skin
Every little secret keeps me breathing in
Windows open wide, let the city in
Every pulse of light feels like where we begin
In the back seat, lost in the sound
In the back seat, time slows down
August fading, hearts still spin
Every breath I take pulls me further in
Traffic hums like echoes, flowing under steel
Whispers turn to rhythm, every word is real
Fuchū nights remember what the daylight hides
Moments in the back seat never compromise
Windows open wide, let the city in
Every pulse of light feels like where we begin
In the back seat, lost in the sound
In the back seat, time slows down
August fading, hearts still spin
Every breath I take pulls me further in
Hold me in the dark
Don’t let the silence part
Every line we cross
Feels like we’re never lost
In the back seat, lost in the sound
In the back seat, time slows down
August fading, hearts still spin
Every breath I take pulls me further in
Lights blur, roads thin
We’re forever in… the back seat
Back seat… in the night…
Back seat… hold me tight…
Back seat… fading slow…
Back seat… never let go…
Back seat… in the sound…
Back seat… we’re unbound…
Back seat… further in…
Back seat… we begin…
Back seat… back seat…
Back seat…

Artist Profile
starclime
There are still landscapes in music that we have yet to see. starclime is a fourteen-member music project. Taking City Pop as one of its starting points, starclime moves freely through rock, jazz, soul, R&B,EDM, classical music, ambient, experimental music, hip-hop, and musical traditions from around the world. Rather than remaining within a single genre, the project absorbs the colour, rhythm, culture and atmosphere of different forms of music, reshaping them into something new. The changing seasons. Journeys towards unfamiliar places. Memories of somewhere to return to. The distance between people. Feelings that lie beyond words. These landscapes and emotions flow throughout the music of starclime. Some things can only be expressed through song. Others only begin to reveal themselves when words disappear. For starclime, vocal works and instrumentals therefore belong equally to the same musical world. Each member brings a different musical background and a different perspective to every work, while some continue to discover and develop their own musical identity. Rather than preserving a single finished form, starclime allows the music itself to grow through change. starclime does not seek simply to add more genres. Its aim is to renew the way music itself can be perceived through the meeting of different musical worlds. Towards music that has yet to be named. Towards landscapes we have yet to discover. starclime will continue to present new ways of seeing and hearing music.
