Halfmens Groove" is the first EP by a bassist/farmer musician based in Kumamoto who is gaining recognition overseas while advocating a unique musical genre called "farmer's music.
The sound information, which can be described as organic or inorganic, is layered on top of the sound of the "TR-66" rhythm box released by Roland in 1977, and creates its own unique paradise.

Artist Profile

  • Yusuke Kurahara

    Born in 1991. Lives and works in Kumamoto. Bassist/farmer musician who repeatedly creates and experiments with music based on his research into African and other ethnic music. He is also a farmer, and while advocating the genre of "farmer's music," which expands the idea from the relationship between agriculture and music that is dotted throughout human history, he is seeking a role as a chronicler of history. In 2022, he will be performing and recording in South Africa, and is expanding his activities overseas, releasing a beat tape album "yhyk," co-written with guitarist Yutaka Hirasaka, on the British label beatsupply.
