I walk between life and death

My heartbeat echoing in the scene

The view shifts—blue to red, then black

I try to restore the fading world

Spending a whole day for that alone

All I ever wanted was to stay in the light

If I wished to widen my sight

I could live leaning on someone

Yet I turn away from those

Who live with skill and ease

Gazing into the distance—

Though nothing waits ahead

Only a wasteland they call barren

I never feared a hand reaching out

But I could never reach first

There were days when doing nothing

Was a pain itself

In time it spread, became normal

I was known as small—

And that pain turned into a kind of wish

People weave fragile chains of thread

By helping one another

No scissors are needed to cut them

We try to pass those threads

Through tiny holes again and again

Failing each time

Yet stretching hands until they tie

The size of a person doesn’t matter

I searched for the border

Between loneliness and despair

The vaguer it became

The safer my heart felt

Meaningless things

With no depth and no bottom

Become easier to let go

Even beyond giving up

I find that colors remain

Black turns to red

Then slowly to blue

The world I tried to restore

Never shines in the color I desired

Even if I stay small

Even if I cannot pass the needle’s eye

I will repaint again and again

Not by brightness

But with the colors I hold inside

There is no right answer

Colors are not to restore—

But to repaint

To know the shade of each moment

One by one

Not only seven colors

Carry all the brilliance

Every single shade

Lives with its own light
