Tom and Jerry (Remix 2024)

Takaya Kawasaki

Artist Profile

  • Takaya Kawasaki

Takaya Kawasaki is a Japanese singer-songwriter who grew up in Yokohama and Osaka. In 1997, at the age of 21, he traveled around the world and ended up performing an original song and received cheers at the famous "Amateur Night" at the Apollo Theater in New York City. After returning to Japan, he settled in Tokyo, where he continued to perform live music. In 2005, he collaborated with jazz pianist Yuichiro Aratake and released his first album, "Higashi no Sora (East Sky)" in Japan. In the same year, he moved to New York. He released his second album, "Harukaze (Spring Wind)" in 2008 both in Japan and the U.S., co-produced by an American music producer, Chris Takita, and performed with graduates of the Berklee College of Music. He then took a 12-year hiatus from music, but in 2020, he was back in the studio and has been working on new songs. The long-awaited his third album will be released in the summer of 2023. Around the same time, he will move to Boston for new film and music production.
