ARuM and SSP release their duo mixtape "THE BOX."
After nearly a decade of working together in hip-hop, the two have finally brought their collaboration into a fully realized body of work.
This mixtape captures the atmosphere of their everyday lives and the moments spent in the studio. Rather than setting a fixed theme, it reflects emotions and experiences as they are, resulting in a raw and authentic expression of their reality.
The title "THE BOX" represents the studio where the project was created, the spaces they inhabit in their daily lives, and their inner worlds. The cover artwork, designed by fellow Kashiwa native and art director GAGA, visually expresses a "room" concept that connects to this idea, bringing everything together as a single packaged work.
Sonically, the project spans a wide range of styles, from hard-hitting tracks to more classic-influenced beats. Despite the diversity in approach, all tracks remain grounded in the same core - who they are right now.
The mixtape consists of 11 tracks with a total runtime of approximately 30 minutes. Mastering was handled by ij. The project features no guest appearances, emphasizing the purity of the collaboration between the two artists.
Among the tracks, "DirtyLove" stands out with its emotional sound contrasted by lyrics that carry a somewhat decadent tone. The track's music video, directed by Shuto Yasuda, is also scheduled for release.
"Nothing but real."
True to that statement, the project presents their current state without filters, capturing it exactly as it is.
