Artist Profile

  • Takumadrops

    Born in Sapporo Hokkaido Japan Takumadrops is a singer songwriter and jazz pianist. He began teaching himself piano at the age of nine and developed a passion for jazz piano by the age of twelve. While living in Sapporo he became a regular performer at Slowboat the historic jazz club founded by renowned jazz pianist Ryo Fukui. After relocating to Tokyo in 2021 he has performed and recorded with numerous acclaimed jazz musicians including the Kazumasa Akiyama Band and Takumi Awaya Trio. He has also supported many major Japanese artists in live performances and recording sessions including Ohashi Trio Sawa Toki Asako go!go!vanillas Saki Takaoka yama Masaki Suda and SIRUP. In 2018 he launched his solo singer songwriter project under the name Takumadrops. Following the release of his debut single Yureru Yurari in December 2022 he began pursuing the project in earnest. His second single Haru no Ame ni Nagareru was selected as FM NORTH WAVE MEGA PLAY for April 2023. His music caught the attention of actor Yutaka Matsushige leading to an appearance on the FM Yokohama radio program Shinya no Ongaku Shokudo. He was also featured on the NHK television program Ogensan no Subscription Hall. On April 6 2025 he released his second album MOLT. To celebrate its release he held his first full band one man concert at BLUE NOTE PLACE on August 7 2025 performing to a sold out audience. He is also active as a member of the duo Nobodys Island with Sawa.
