I’m a room with no doors to find

Walls made of thoughts like fragile skin

The lamp flickers, whispering sighs

But no one hears what’s in its eyes

In the window stands my other self

Wearing me like an old dress felt

Worn buttons hold me in a time

That’s not quite ready, out of line

And I fall —

Through mirrored glass

I look at me and ask:

Who was I

Before I got caught

Inside your gaze, trapped so fast?

And I swim —

With every breath

Hear my heart beat in time with the clock

But it beats

No longer for me

Only for the structure’s lock

Words drip like ink on silk so thin

You call it “truth,” I call “the end.”

A phrase sticks tight upon the wall

Written with a cicada’s call

It hums me slowly into sleep

Where tangled thoughts refuse to keep

And I fall —

Through mirrored glass

I look at me and ask:

Who was I

Before I got caught

Inside your gaze, trapped so fast?

And I swim —

No longer for me

I count the pixels of your touch

Through glass and Wi-Fi’s glowing hush

We write in bits and tears that fall

But never touch at all

My gaze drops deep into your code

I was never

Who you thought you saw

Just a poem on your screen’s cold glow

And I swim —

With every breath

An algorithm writes my song

But deep inside

Far deep inside

Something sings where two worlds collide
