"Pua Olena" is my Hawaiian name and also memorable mele. I relearned it from the original song over again and recorded it in this second EP.
I treasure memories of the International 'Ukulele Contest 2019, and awarded Hawaiian Song Award.
I am keep singing Hawaiian songs as I was encouraged from living treasure of Hawaiian Music, Kumu Ku'uipo Kumukahi.

...--- Live Aloha! ...--- Singing Hawaiian mele is not only healing my soul, but also making my world of Hawai'i deeper and deeper.
By singing Hawaiian song, I hope to be one of supporters for perpetuating Hawaiian Music.

  • Naoko Yabushima

    Japanese singer/ukulele player who loves Hawaii. Sings in Honolulu and Sendai. She gained opportunity to learn the traditional hula and ukulele while studying abroad in Hawaii. Having been healed by soothing Hawaiian music after 3.11, she is always with Hawaiian songs and the ukuleles. She was awarded the Second Prize in Solo-open category and the Special Jury Prize at the International Ukulele Contest 2019 in Hawaii by singing "Pua ʻŌlena". She has performed in Hula Ukulele Festival 2019 and Ukulele Picnic in Hawaii 2020. Now she is one of the students of Hawaiian Treasure (Kumu Mele) Ku'uipo Kumukahi. She is relearning Hawaiian original music and preparing for a new album. She hopes the sound of the Hawaiian language will resonate in your heart. May your heart filled with aloha.♡ALOHA♡
