HIGH BRIDGES
The Highbridges are a family band based in Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture. Set against the backdrop of Sanriku's rich nature and port town life, they deliver music that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Their signature song, "Isami Bune," sings of Kesennuma's richness and love for its hometown, spreading the region's charm nationwide. They expand their expression through their unique style. In 2021, on the 10th anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake, they released "Isami Bune," and the song, which was filled with their desire to cheer up Kesennuma, garnered significant attention. Two years later, in 2023, they made their national CD debut with "Yami Fune c/w Port Town Serenade," expanding the scope of their musical activities in earnest. Furthermore, in September 2025, they will release a new album, "Kesennuma Departure Song c/w Sanriku Port Song," further spreading the charm of "Port Town Kesennuma" and Sanriku throughout the country. They also focus on Showa-era pop music, recreating classics beloved by all generations with a warm, family-like performance. Yuppy, the band's 15-year-old second daughter and vocalist, attracted attention when she appeared on the TV show "Sandwichman and Mana Ashida's Hakase-chan Showa Kayo Special" as the "Showa Kayo Family Band Hakase-chan." With their well-coordinated performances and bright, warm stage presence, they aim to build a "bridge of music" from Sanriku to the rest of the country while continuing their community-based activities.
