tokidoki watashi

Hiromu Kochi & A few friends

"ROM" is an 11-track album centered around themes of memory and playback, love and loss.

The title carries a double meaning: "Read Only Memory" - memories that cannot be rewritten - and "Rom," a childhood nickname. As the name suggests, the record quietly imprints fragments of emotion that drift between past and present, self and others.

Recorded in the winter of 2024 at Kochi's home studio, the album was tracked on analog tape. Moving fluidly across folk, rock, and kayōkyoku (Japanese pop), it gently captures the pains of everyday life and inexpressible longing.

Kochi handled most of the production and performance himself, resulting in a work that is deeply personal yet open - a new point of arrival in his artistic expression.
