WABISABI

Singer-songwriter nikiie releases her latest work "WABISABI"! Born and raised as a Japanese, the sense of ''wabi-sabi'' has been ingrained in me without my even being aware of it. I had always unconsciously thought that it was something that all Japanese could feel and be proud of. But... I no longer understand it. Trends, the life of things, and visions are getting shorter and shorter. I sometimes play things back at double speed. I think we're trying to be efficient, but before we know it, we're stuck in time all the time. But even if I were the only one living in the abundance of time, I would be alone.
I used to think without hesitation that "old values should be renewed," but I wonder if some of the most important things are actually being secretly discarded among them. I wrote a song that affirmed looking back for the first time.
Drum programming is by JAYTWOL, an artist from Milan, Italy, who met during the Corona disaster.
The lyrics were written and arranged by nikiie, who, in keeping with the theme of the song, also tried her hand at playing the sanshin (Okinawan three-stringed instrument). Mixing and mastering was done by Takayuki Noami a.k.a. Tia Rungray (Non-REM Studio), and the jacket photo was taken by Kenji Agata.
