New band "UNCOVER HIVES" by Vo.Tomoya and Gt.Katoshin, formerly dance rock band "C SQUARED", has started with releasing 1st single "POP IS DEAD".
The music video will be released on the same day as the distribution release of their first single "POP IS DEAD".
The band name "UNCOVER HIVES" is a combination of "UNCOVER," which means to reveal one's inner self and true feelings, and "HIVES," which means to create a place where people who resonate with this idea gather and interact with each other in a passionate manner, like a beehive.
The release "POP IS DEAD" is a pop song based on rock, but fusing elements of various genres. C SQUARED, who has been a part of the pop scene and shaped the culture, redefines pop music as UNCOVER HIVES while denying all pop culture and past activities, reaching deeper into its essence.

UNCOVER HIVES
UNCOVER HIVES' vocalist Tomoya and guitarist Katoshin were previously members of the dance rock band C SQUARED. Building on that experience, they launched their new band, UNCOVER HIVES, in 2024. Starting with their first single "POP IS DEAD" in July, they released their second, third, fourth, and fifth singles, "Buried Gold," "Rakuen," "Strategy," and "Blood Orange," one after the other, and on March 26, 2025, they released their first album, "UNCOVER HIVES." A DIY music video was also released alongside the single, garnering significant attention for their unique creative style. The band's name combines the meanings of "UNCOVER," which refers to revealing one's inner thoughts and true feelings, and "HIVES," which refers to people who resonate with this and gather together to create enthusiastic interactions like a beehive. Although UNCOVER HIVES played a part in the pop scene during the C SQUARED era, they were not an extension of that era, but rather were born by rejecting and redefining all pop culture and past activities.
